      Yes, you're absolutely right that it's difficult to see the different layers and seams on the black fabric. The reason, though, that I used a dark color in this case was because my son didn't have light colored pants and this was the pair that fit him well and that I wanted to replicate.

      To be honest, I don't know why I even put the pattern in there because it's really not even useful. It's actually a circle skirt pattern, not a cape pattern. In the end I just used it to make sure the fabric was lined up correctly when folded. Just follow my instructions for cutting the main part and then drafting the hood pattern.

    Buongiorno, grazie per il video. Devo realizzare una mantella, ma ho poca stoffa (150 x 150). O seguo il tuo tutorial e mi accontento di una mantella corta a mezza ruota oppure la faccio "rettangolare". C'è tanta differenza di vestibilità?

    • @cucicucicooecosewingandcra645
      @cucicucicooecosewingandcra645 4 месяца назад

      Chiaramente dipende dall'effetto che vuoi ottenere. Se la fai rettangolare, l'effetto sarà meno fluido (almeno se immagino bene quello che vuoi dire) perché non si muoverà bene se la stoffa non è sullo sbieco.

    I don’t understand why you would throw away a perfectly good needle just because it’s old. It looks to be in good shape. The thread doesn’t look bad either.

    • @cucicucicooecosewingandcra645
      @cucicucicooecosewingandcra645 6 месяцев назад

      The needle was a bit bent, so problematic for precise sewing. As for the thread, it's very thin and low quality. I had tried using it for sewing in the past and it kept snapping as I was sewing with it, so I only use it for temporary things, like basting very lightweight fabrics or other non-fabric things.
